Ways to Make Money While Living in Your Van

The term “vanlife” refers to people who live in vans, campers, trailers, etc., and travel around the country or world. They can use their vehicles as an income source by using the vehicle for transportation to areas where they work.

Become a Virtual Bookkeeper

This one is my favorite.  Checkout my article in May/June issue of Rootless Living Magazine.

Become a Freelance Writer.
If you’re interested in making money while traveling, then consider becoming a freelance writer. You can write articles, blog posts, ebooks, white papers, and more. There’s no shortage of opportunities for writers, so you should have no trouble finding work.

The best thing about freelancing is that you get paid to travel. And if you want to be able to afford to travel, you’ll need to find ways to earn extra income. One option is to become a freelance writer. Writing is one of the most popular freelance jobs because there are always people looking for content. Plus, writing is something anyone can do from anywhere in the world.

If you’re interested in becoming a freelance writer, here’s what you should know before jumping into the deep end. First, you’ll need to decide whether you want to write for print publications or online platforms. Print publications include magazines, newspapers, and books. Online platforms include blogs, websites, social media pages, and other digital outlets. You’ll also need to determine which type of writing you’d prefer to do. For example, some writers specialize in fiction while others focus on nonfiction. Finally, you’ll need to learn how to market yourself and your work. There are many different ways to go about doing this, but the key is to figure out what works best for you.

Be a Traveling Photographer.
If you love taking pictures, then becoming a traveling photographer might be right up your alley. You can travel across the country and take photos of people’s homes, businesses, and even landscapes.

The best thing about being a traveling photographer is that you get to see new places every day. Plus, if you’re really talented at what you do, you could end up making some pretty decent cash doing it.

Work as a Virtual Assistant.
Another option is to become a virtual assistant. This job allows you to work remotely, and you’ll need to be organized and detail oriented.

If you’re looking for a new career path, becoming a virtual assistant might be right up your alley. You can find work at companies such as Zirtual (zirtual.com), Upwork (upwork.com) and Fiverr (fiverr.com). These websites connect businesses seeking help with everything from writing content to designing logos. The pay isn’t always stellar — $10 per hour is considered average — but if you want to break into the industry, this could be a good place to start.

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of being able to work remotely. Whether you’re traveling around the world or simply working from home, having the ability to work anywhere you choose is one of life’s greatest luxuries.  Many people dream of quitting their day job and striking out on their own.  While working their current jobs, they can supplement them with side hustles until their side hustle pays the bills. One of the best ways to get started is to become a virtual assistant.
